Who are these lovely ladies? Aren't they famous?

Robin's Big Girl Beer

We both had one of these beers but didn't realize what size we were ordering. It was 50 cl or 16.9 oz. We felt all puffed up and had a lot of water retention. Or it could have been all the wine we had all week or both!

Dining Room Project

Robin and I decided to do this project this afternoon but didn't get home and started until until 6:30.  What is wrong with us! We finished at 10:30, had dinner and trying to relax a little before bed.

Joe would be very proud of the measuring I had to do to get the layout. All the projects we've done together has paid off.

This picture does not do the flowers justice.

And Robin is missing this guy

Owen, you didn't eat the whole piece!

Missing these guys too

Caulking before

After caulking

Our time here is coming to an end

The last three days have been sunny and mild. Perfect days for running around shopping for art and essentials. I think we have accomplished what we wanted to get done and more. A lot of things done have been needed but more in the background. The kitchen needed a lot of caulking around and above cabinets. It was time consuming and no one would probably notice but Robin and I feel it made a big difference. I'm going to post a couple pictures just so you can appreciate the difference. (I know you don't care.) Artwork needed to be hung in the perfect place and furniture placed just so.

The apartment is very homey and comfortable and a perfect fit for Robin's family or yours.

We are sad to leave but family awaits us at home. It will also be nice to hear English spoken in the background.  French is a beautiful language, the food and wine is great, and the people have been friendly, but home is calling. (So is Joe!)

Final pictures will be posted before we leave.

Still learning how to blog

I cannot get the right order of before/after pictures.  Sorry.

Robin and I shopped most of day at a brocante in the 14th arrondissement.  Rained hard but luckily we were inside for the really hard stuff.  It is such fun shopping and someone else picks up the tab. She purchased a buffet table for dining room (not ready to show you the after photo yet).  Also purchased a mirror for entry, end table for living room and TV table.  We still need to hang art work and do something crafty in kitchen. When these rooms are complete, photos will be posted.

It's hard to put into words the fun times we are having while going on little sleep and drinking way too much wonderful wine. We did eat out tonight waiting on furniture delivery. Yes, they delivered the same day! Robin had penne with mushrooms, Parmesan cheese and cream. I had trout (which I forget is served whole with bones) but still delicious. It was served with eggplant and red pepper sautéed in butter. Yum!!

Miss everyone as I know Robin does, too, but someone has to get this job done!

Trying to learn the bus routes and rode everywhere on bus today except for one short leg. Really enjoyed traveling above ground instead of on Metro. Robin has a great app called "Uber". If you need a taxi, you pull up your app and send a request for a pickup. The program sends you a picture of driver, his name, license plate and in how many minutes they will be there. You have a map on you screen and you can see the taxing coming to you on the map. Technology is wonderful. We were tired and needed a quick way home.

It's midnight here so I am signing off for now.

Before

Hello everyone!

Rene working while Robin takes a call (but from her Mother, so does that really count???!)

Oh my goodness!! We removed shelving (like dining room) from wall which is why the post are sticking out (support for shelf).  TV is sitting on new piece of furniture.

This is what Robin was doing ...

Before and After

Dining room after shelving has been removed. Now we need something big on that wall. Any suggestions?

A good days work!

Our first dinner! Pasta, salad and vin rouge

The Cave

View from Paris apartment living room

We made it!  Sleepless in Paris. Neither of us slept on plane so we will probably retire early tonight. Robin managed to get her things out of the cave (storage area under ground), loaded in elevator, up 4 floors, handed off to me at apartment door, then back done to do it again. This was done about 6 times. Did I mention there are about 10 steps down to cave? Will try to post picture of cave.

Stop over in Atlanta
